Case Fabrication

My setup contains:
Intel Core2 6750,Evga 680i SE Motherboard,Evga 8800 GTS 640mb Graphics card, OCZ 2N10662GK Ram, Antec Trio 650 power supply,
WD 37.6 Raptor Hard drive Lite on optical drive.
I Built this 1st case in what I like to call. I Frankenstiened it form my old case that I upgraded from. I kept the motherboard tray and the powersupply part intact. I can remove the whole computer by sliding it all from the rear of the custom case. The actual outside case I built from scratch .125 aluminum. I layed it out, cut it out, and formed then welded it. Then grinded the miter welds smooth. The motherboard and all fasteners are stainless steel socket head screws. The top is removable with 2 aluminum Ducts supplying Intake air to the power supply and top of motherboard. I added a old pullchain on&off switch for old sckool effect
I had lots of fun bulding this case. It was about 12 hrs from start till boot up. N ot bad timing I think for an old tinbender. In closing to all u young folks I,ve been a union metalworker for 23 yrs now and I have just as much fun now making things as I did when I started so find something in life u like to do and make a living from it.

Case Mods

I’ve had the drawing of the Mermaid for quite some time now. I’ve always wanted to cut this out and back light it somehow. The thought of cutting it out cleanly with a Dremel made me cringe. Bring on the Waterjet!
The main panel was cut at work and then a piece of plexi was sanded and sandwiched between another blank plate. LED’s lights are hooked up to the fan bus to adjust brightness.
There is also a false wall in next to the MB and on the floor to hide the cables and give it a nice clean look. The entire case was disassembled and given a flat black paint job. hope you like it.
