Summary:
A few very basic Tips for submitting your rig for battles at the ModShop.

Just a few suggestions folks, no offense meant to anyone;

1) I know it’s a pain if you use the rig daily, but if you’re entering it in the contest, either use pics from when the mod was new or clean your PC up. Dirty fans and fingerprints and dust are less than appealing.

2) I know it is cool to do and can really add to affect in a showcase website, but on the battle pages I suggest not using sound files. First because they can be annoying, and secondly because once it starts, everyone will be putting sound up and geesh what a loud place this will be then. Save it for a display/showcase web page or a video on YouTube.

3) Crop your images to 250 × 375 or to a range within, as this is the image box size used at the ModShop. Now you may have a time when you just have to so more in one picture than the box size allows. In this case you can do a little photoshop work to crop, slice and literally stack the images one on top of the other or side by side such as the in the third photo on the right. This shows both stacking methods to showcase a pair of rigs.

4) Also, on pics I suggest showing your best features cropped and zoomed in on. Be sure not to forget that folks want to see all of your rig, so take photos of everything you can, front, back, sides, top, bottom, inside, and especially special features that make your rig stand out above the rest. See the fourth image on the right.

5) If you add a rig to the battle pages please post pics. Links to worklogs are ok, but folks really don’t want to go all over the net to see a rig. If you don’t have pics, just links to other places on the net, well it kinda takes away from your potential votes.

These are just a few minor suggestions and are not meant to offend or slight anyone, but instead to maybe help increase popularity of your rig and this site.

I am sure there are many other suggestions that could be added, so please if you have any suggestions post them here in the comment section.

Thanks,
