This was my first “Scratch Built” or Fabricated Case.

I started with Lubic (Aerocool aluminum structure system) kit I picked up at the local Fry’s. That sat in a closet for a while, until I got the idea to do a new (at the time) type of Theme PC case: I called it Architectural. Not a movie, game, character, or picture, but a concept from some 6,000 years ago, give or take.

Feng Shui (pronounced something like “Fong Schweay”) is the classic Chinese art of Geomancy, using the environment and elements of astrology to layout landscape and structures to benefit the spirit.

I am not Chinese, but I found the concept intriguing, exploring the history, terminology, and referencing some forum groups for tips.

I also took to Sketchup (owned by Google now) to layout the size and location of various internal components before really getting down to the fabrication.

My first work in that direction is shown in the uploaded images.

In the end, it was an 18” cube featuring a P4 Hyperthreaded 3.2, 2Gb of RAM, 2X250Gig HDDs, a Plextor DVD burner, and a Matrix Orbital VFD (512 series) to control the lighting elements.

It even has it’s own fountain. :)
