It actually won’t hurt it.

In any event, that’s only where I posed it to take the picture :)

its just my opinion but is

its just my opinion but is it smart to locate a pc on a subwooffer box?
which contains magnetic material
but this would not apply if the sub was shielded, no?
good mod though

I thought you might like to check out my rig “Pipe Dreams” on ModShop, I used all copper tubing on my cooling system with compression fittings thur out. A simular set up on your copper case rig would be cool to see.

Ok, It’s done.

I present, a case made entirely out of copper pipe.

This PC is air cooled at the moment, but it was made in such a way that the pipe will double as a reservoir tank for a water setup (yes, it will hold water, it’s really all soldered together.)

It is very strong, moderately heavy and quite pretty in the right light.

It's done.

I finished it today while watching Judge Judy. Made sure that all the seams were solid, once I add the water blocks and pump later down the road, I wanted to make sure I wouldn’t be in for a nasty suprise. So, thats it. It’s done.

It's just about done.

Ok, I have the live drive mounted now, and everything seems to be set. Just have to polish it a bit and wait for my camera batteries to charge and I’ll have some battle ready snaps.

01/05/08

Ok, it's together.

Pipes are all in place now, got all the components in and everything seems to be working properly. Only detail left is to polish it a little, and it will be good to go.

Got the board mounted!

Sorta finished mocking up the mounting for the mainboard, so I stuck it in there to see what it would look like. Not too shabby. Still have to finish soldering the pipes in place once everything fits snug and I’m sure I won’t have to pull any of it back apart. No, the zip tie isn’t permenant O_o. Just another handful of parts to mock up and I’ll be ready to commit the frame the rest of the way with solder and tighten down the thread rods. Once it’s done in the end, the pipe should make a dandy water reservoir ;)

Went and bought some copper pipe!

I’ve returned home from the home improvement store, made some mockup measurements for the primary parts for this machine, cut my pipes and did a basic assembly to get a feel for the size of the machine once it’s completed. Looks pretty cool already ;)
