I love it, my brother had that same fish tank but no computer in it :P you got my vote.

I loved watching ur video, I feel so sorry for those poor fans, I probably would have gone passive cooling. I was really suprised that the spinning fan didnt make the oil cloudy.
If you guys have any job openings I want to apply (Im good with a broom);) Sweet Build!
I did the aquarium too but in the interest of harmony with my fish I had the comp parts behind a clear panel. That fish really loved to watch the LEDs blink.

well if the psu fan is
well if the psu fan is moving which I think it still can, would help circulate the oil.
It still amazes me that
It still amazes me that everything can run within a bath of mineral oil. I suppose that PSU fan isn’t moving though!

Over the years, I have seen many projects on the web that cooled a computer using common vegetable oil, including a very popular video by Tom’s Hardware.
I felt that by building a computer in an aquarium using clear mineral oil, that I would be able to accomplish a much more attractive result, with less work. I am happy with the results!
I later added a large passive radiator to help dissipate the heat, and the result is a rock solid system with temperatures maxing out at 45C.
Next, I plan to add crushed blue rock to the bottom, and take the housing off the power supply.
I posted details of my project on my company’s website at http://www.pugetsystems.com/submerged.php

Not good for the fans but I
Not good for the fans but I see why you like the idea, the problem with such a build is that once the oil is heated by anything in the system, it means everything else in the tank is heated, which means all of the other components.
