“...is now a

“...is now a Frankenstinean combination of old and new.” I think you pretty much nailed it! :-)

No need to be that much of a

No need to be that much of a jerk about it. At least give some useful criticism instead of trolling, especially when you have no cases up of your own. Anyway…

Your concept is actually fairly strong and I like it however your implementation of it needs work and the craft is a bit shotty. It can look like patchwork without actually being patchwork if you take more time, design it out a bit better, and, well, give it a bit of a redo.

What the heck is this

What the heck is this crap. I have seen nicer rigs int he garbage…. man dont the admins on here screen the rigs before they get posted.

Sorry I cannot give you

Sorry I cannot give you props for this. It doesn’t look finished and well, it’s just not any sort of quality that I can see. Perhaps it would be different if you posted some better quality and more photos.

This, my first foray into PC building and modding, is a PC that I had promised myself for a good two years before I actually got around to building it. Built for about $1000 and some change, it is a college student’s budget gamer rig.

The theme I explored was the idea that a sleek black rig got patched and changed over the course of it’s life, and is now a Frankenstinean combination of old and new.

The build began as a Raidmax Katana, and took a good month or two of work, using steel and aluminum as well as an assortment of vents found at a hardware store. I also scrounged the copper pipe from around the garage.

There are still a quite a few details to touch up and changes I would like to make, so any suggestions are appreciated.

As for the guts:

Core 2 Duo E4500 (2.2 GHz) OC’ed to about 2.8…for now.
Asus P5N-D
OCZ Platinum Ed. 800 MHz
EVGA nVidia 8800GT
2 × 250Gb Western Digital HDDs
Xigmatek HDT-S1284 CPU cooler
Coolmax 700W Modular Power Supply

Also the total on the fans came to:
3 × 120mm blue LED
1 × 80mm blue LED

Thanks for reading, feel free to leave comments or tips, as this is an evolutionary work in progress.
